Turbo pressure lowered for Volkswagen
The three Team Biogas.se Volkswagen Sciroccos of Fredrik Ekblom, Patrik Olsson and Johan Kristoffersson will have their turbo pressure lowered by 0.05 bar for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship races at Karlskoga this weekend.
“We are closely monitoring the performance of all cars. We have noticed recently that the Biogas team has got their things in order and that the car has got rather good corner speed. The difference in straight line speed has gone a little on the high side, that is why we are making this change,” said Johnny Haraldsson, STCC Technical Director, to TouringCarTimes.
The turbo pressure has been lowered from 2.05 bar to 2.00 bar while the maximum engine speed [7250 rpm] and the air restrictor [38 mm] are unchanged.
This is the first time this season that the turbo pressure has been changed for the Volkswagens. Last season a total of two changes were made to the turbo pressure – from 2.25 bar at the start of the season to 2.10 ahead of the final couple of races.
Ekblom is currently the best placed Volkswagen driver, leading the championship, three points ahead of Chevrolet driver Rickard Rydell.
