Victory in the crosshair for Richard Göransson

Reigning STCC champion Richard Göransson heads to Karlskoga this weekend with victory in his crosshair.
“This is my home track and I have won here many times in the past. My goal is to win at least one race,” said Göransson.

Göransson returned to racing in Gothenburg after having missed the first part of the season due to a spectacular accident in the opening STCC race in Denmark.
“The races in Gothenburg and Falkenberg were tough both physically and mentally. I started my own championship table in Gothenburg and my ambition is to continue to climb,” said Göransson.

The WestCoast Racing driver is currently 10th in the championship on 55 points compared to championship leader Fredrik Ekblom who is on 129 points.

Team mate Martin Öhlin on the other hand has not been able to score as much points as Göransson despite taking part in all races. Öhlin is currently placed 14th on 21 points and is aiming to turn things around this weekend.
“The start of the season has been mixed to put it mildly. I have got the speed but it would be nice with some results as well. My expectation for the weekend is to score and get rewarded for the speed we’ve had all year,” said Öhlin.
