Gabriele Tarquini looking forward to STCC debut

Gabriele Tarquini turns his first ever laps in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship this weekend at Karlskoga for Volvo Polestar Racing.
“It is going to be exciting and it will be a real challenge as I haven’t seen the track or driven the car before. But I have a lot of experience from many types of racing and I will give my maximum this weekend,” said Tarquini.

First up for Tarquini this weekend at Karlskoga is an official test session where the Italian is going to get his first taste of the Volvo C30.
“The test is going to be really important, it gives me a chance to learn the track, adapt my driving style and to discover the C30. We have got an exciting weekend ahead of us,” said Tarquini.

While the Italian has driven a vast number of big championships all around the world, STCC is completely new to him.
“STCC is a really tough championship from what I have seen and it is going to be interesting to race there. Volvo Polestar Racing is a professional team that is going to provide me with the best possible conditions,” said Tarquini.

Tarquini is going to do the two coming STCC races at Karlskoga and Jyllandsringen before returning to the World Touring Car Championship with SUNRED Engineering for the final part of the season.
“This gives both me and Volvo Polestar Racing a sound base to evaluate a cooperation and to get to know each other for 2012,” said Tarquini.
