Tommy Rustad fastest in Karlskoga morning test

Volvo driver Tommy Rustad topped the morning test session, held in sunny conditions, at Karlskoga. The Norwegian lapped the track close to four tenths faster than his closest rival – Rickard Rydell in the Chevrolet Cruze.

Championship leader Fredrik Ekblom was just 0.030 seconds behind Rydell in third.

Jan “Flash” Nilsson was top BMW man in fourth, just over half a second from Rustad’s time. Johan Kristoffersson claimed fifth fastest time ahead of STCC newcomer Gabriele Tarquini. The Italian showed strong form and got in to the top times early on in the test session.

Mattias Andersson and Patrik Olsson claimed seventh and eighth, with BMW men Johan Stureson and Colin Turkington rounding off top ten.

The session continues at 13.00 CET until 17.00.
