Göransson ahead of Tarquini in close final test

Richard Göransson topped the final test session ahead of qualifying in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship weekend at Karlskoga. The reigning champion was just 49 thousands of a second faster than the ever impressing STCC newcomer Gabriele Tarquini.

The times were really close in the session with eleven drivers within 0.235 seconds.

Tommy Rustad made it two Volvos in the top three, just 0.034 seconds behind team mate Tarquini. Patrik Olsson was best of the Volkswagen drivers in fourth ahead of Mattias Andersson and Johan Stureson. The MA:GP/IPS Motorsport team mates were separated by just one thousand of a second.

Fredrik Ekblom claimed seventh ahead of three BMW drivers in the form of Jan “Flash” Nilsson, Martin Öhlin and Colin Turkington. Rickard Rydell was first driver outside top ten in eleventh.
