All or nothing for Richard Göransson

Reigning champion Richard Göransson is back with STCC at Jyllandsringen this weekend, the very track that he crashed severely at in the season opener.
“It is a track like any other and I feel strong. We are fast at Jyllandsringen and I am going there with maximum attack,” said Göransson.

The crash, in which he injured his spine, put him out for three race weekends. Göransson returned to action in Gothenburg and has since then won no less than three out of six races.
“We are leading “our” championship rather comfortably that we started in Gothenburg. The last race at Karlskoga was the first weekend after my return that I felt that I could go 100 % and I intend to continue in that style,” said Göransson.

The quadruple STCC champion has moved from last to fifth in the championship in just three race weekends with 49 points up to championship leader Fredrik Ekblom.
“We are not far from third in the championship and the goal with a top three finish is not impossible. There is no reason to drive safe, I am going for it,” said Göransson.
