Chevrolet gets weight break for Knutstorp

The Chevrolet Cruze of Rickard Rydell and Viktor Hallrup is going to get a weight reduction of 20 kilos ahead of the penultimate Scandinavian Touring Car Championship round at Knutstorp this weekend.

The Cruze is going to weigh 1185 kilos compared to championship rival Fredrik Ekblom’s Volkswagen Scirocco at 1210 kilos.

The weights are calculated on the three previous race meetings and the Cruze has been +0.5 seconds from the fastest car [BMW 320si] while the Scirocco is +0.3 seconds behind.

The Honda Accord and the Alfa Romeo 156 has also gotten lighter ahead of the Knutstorp race, with 1130 kilos for the Honda [-20 kilos from base weight] and 1150 kilos [-+0 kilos] for the Alfa Romeo.

The only car to gain weight is the older generation Volkswagen Scirocco of Johan Kristoffersson, going from 1160 kilos ahead of Jyllandsringen to 1180 ahead of Knutstorp.
