Volkswagen confirms plans for STCC 2012

Volkswagen has confirmed their plans to continue in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship 2012.
“STCC has meant a lot for us during these three years. We have been able to connect our racing to the cars that we sell and the racing has strengthened Volkswagen as a brand,” said Sten Forsberg, Volkswagen Sweden MD.

The team is going to continue racing the bio gas powered Volkswagen Sciroccos and Kristoffersson Motorsport will continue maintaining the cars.

“We are very proud and happy to get continued trust from Volkswagen, one of the leading manufacturers in the world. We are getting the possibility to continue to drive the development of the teams and drivers in a championship which faces an interesting future,” said Forsberg.

Drivers for 2012 has not been confirmed yet, the team currently fields three cars for Fredrik Ekblom, Patrik Olsson and Johan Kristoffersson.
