Volkswagen set to enter fourth car at Mantorp

Volkswagen Team Biogas.se are according to information to TouringCarTimes set to enter a fourth Volkswagen Scirocco in the STCC finale at Mantorp Park.
“We can’t confirm this information,” said Per Andersson of Team Biogas.se to TouringCarTimes.

The information suggests that 2006 STCC champion Thed Björk would drive an older specification Volkswagen Scirocco, just as Johan Kristoffersson has done for the past four races.

“I do not want to comment this information,” said Björk.

Volkswagen and Fredrik Ekblom are in a fierce fight for the title with Chevrolet and Rickard Rydell, a mere two points separate the both.

Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden brought in Danish ace Michel Nykjær in a third Cruze for the final two races, sparking controversy at Knutstorp where the Dane got a penalty for hindering Ekblom in the start.

The STCC finale takes place at Mantorp Park on September 23-24.
