Volkswagen confirms Thed Björk in fourth Scirocco

Volkswagen today confirmed the information that Thed Björk is going to drive a fourth Scirocco for the final race of the year at Mantorp Park.
“We want to give the spectators great racing at the same time as we of course have the goal to secure both the drivers and teams championship,” said team boss Tommy Kristoffersson.

Björk drove for Kristoffersson Motorsport [Team Biogas.se] from 2006 to 2007 and secured the STCC title in 2006.

“Fredrik Ekblom helped me to the title then and I would gladly like to help him now. I am going to steal points from the main competitors, that is the only thing that counts and I am ready for it,” said Björk.

The main competitor is Rickard Rydell and the Chevrolet team, a team which brought in Danish racer Michel Nykjær alongside regular drivers Rydell and Viktor Hallrup for the two final races.

The team is going to do an extra test session at Mantorp Park on friday for Björk and team mates Fredrik Ekblom, Patrik Olsson and Johan Kristoffersson.
