Mantorp Park signs 5 year deal with STCC

The event company of Swedish track Mantorp Park has signed a five year deal with the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship organisers.
“We are looking forward to continue the strong cooperation we’ve had with Mantorp Park through the years,” said Bob Huzell, MD of STCC.

STCC is going to run the 2012 premiere at Mantorp Park and a second race later during the year, which is not the finale.

“We have had a long and positive cooperation with STCC and it feels good to be able to continue with this,” said Fredrik Ström, Site Manager of Mantorp Park.

While the STCC finale of 2011 is held at Mantorp Park, it has been moved to the planned Solvalla [trotting track in Stockholm] event in 2012. But the STCC organisers promises that it will be back at Mantorp in 2013.

“We are going to develop a new finale concept with Mantorp next year for the future. When that is completed, the Grande Finale is going to return to classic Swedish motor grounds,” said Huzell.
