Johan Kristoffersson fastest in first Mantorp test
Johan Kristoffersson topped the first test session of the final Scandinavian Touring Car Championship weekend of 2011. The Volkswagen driver lapped the track in 1:22.249, just 21 thousands of a second ahead of local driver Mattias Andersson.
Thed Björk, joining the Volkswagen team in a fourth Scirocco for the final weekend, was third fastest, 0.088 seconds behind team mate Kristoffersson.
Richard Göransson was top BMW driver in fourth, right ahead of the fastest title contender in the form of Rickard Rydell. The Chevrolet driver was 0.141 seconds from fastest time while championship leader Fredrik Ekblom was seventh fastest, right behind team mate Patrik Olsson.
Tomas Engström was eighth fastest ahead of Volvo driver Robert Dahlgren and privateer SEAT driver Alx Danielsson.
Third and final title candidate Tommy Rustad failed to make it to the top ten and was 15th fastest, 0.835 seconds from the fastest time of the session.
A total of 23 cars took part in the session, with privateer BMW driver Joakim Ahlberg missing from the session due to technical problems.
