No turbo for Geoff Steel Racing at Brands

Geoff Steel Racing has postponed the introduction of the NGTC turbo engine in their BMW 320si. The original idea was to run the turbo engine for Tony Gilham for the two final races, including this weekend’s races at Brands Hatch.

“All the mechanicals are done, but we can’t get the electrics done in time. We’re pleased with the installation, but it’s such a big transition we need to test it. We have to do it properly. It will run at Silverstone,” said team owner Geoff Steel to Autosport.

Geoff Steel Racing returned to the BTCC for the previous race at Rockingham with former Triple Eight driver Gilham behind the wheel of a naturally aspirated BMW 320si E90. Gilham’s best result at Rockingham was 14th.
