Chevrolet voted best car and team of STCC 2011

Chevrolet was voted both best car and best team of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship 2011 by the readers of TouringCarTimes.

Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden, headed by team owner Nicklas Karlsson, received 29% of the votes in the category of best STCC team. Volvo Polestar Racing claimed second, 9% behind, ahead of team champions Volkswagen Team Biogas.se on 15%.

Duo-team MA:GP and IPS Motorsport received 12% of the votes in fourth ahead of BMW team Flash Engineering on 8% in fifth.

The Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Rickard Rydell, Viktor Hallrup and Michel Nykjaer in this year’s STCC, was voted best STCC car with 33% of the votes. Volvo Polestar Racing’s Volvo C30 came in second on 21% of the votes ahead of the Volkswagen Scirocco on 17%.

The BMW 320si claimed fourth with 12% of the votes with the evergreen Alfa Romeo 156 in fifth with 9% of the votes.

The TouringCarTimes Awards will shortly continue with the overall awards where the winner from each championship will be put against each other in a final vote.
