Sturup Raceway confirmed for STCC race four

Sturup Raceway has been confirmed for the fourth Scandinavian Touring Car Championship race weekend of 2012 on the 16th of June.
“We are looking forward to have STCC at Sturup Raceway again. STCC offers dramatic and good racing and with our closeness to Malmö/Copenhagen region, we are of course hoping to attract a big audience to the track,” said Flemming Schleimann, Managing Director of Sturup Raceway.

STCC last raced at Sturup in 2008 and the track has since then upgraded the safety level to FIA grade four.
“We have improved the track on several points, like barriers and run off areas. The tarmac has been flattened and the track is in a good state,” said Schleimann.

The STCC calendar is now complete with Sturup, featuring nine races, starting at Mantorp Park in May and ending at the trotting track Solvalla in September.
“The track is in an exciting and expansive region where we want to be visible. We are looking forward to an exciting cooperation,” said Bob Huzell, STCC MD.
