Alex MacDowall to test for Motorbase

Alex MacDowall is going to test for Motorbase Performance at Brands Hatch on Wednesday in order to evaluate plans for the BTCC and WTCC.
“That is when the decision will be made. The drive with Motorbase is really the only option available to me in BTCC now for this season, so it’s all down to Wednesday whether I will remain in the championship,” said MacDowall to Autosport.

The other option for the young Brit is to remain with RML and Chevrolet, but moving to the FIA World Touring Car Championship, according to Autosport.
“The other option is to join RML in the WTCC, in their fourth car. The main thing is, I don’t want to be sat around scratching my head for nine months,” said MacDowall.

MacDowall is going to drive the NGTC engined Ford Focus of Motorbase at Brands Hatch tomorrow, but says that his main goal isn’t necessarily the BTCC.
“I wouldn’t say BTCC is the better option, but it is the same price to enter the WTCC, as it is to do 30 races in BTCC,” said MacDowall.
