BTCC reveals 25 car entry list for 2012 season
25 cars have been entered for the 2012 British Touring Car Championship season, with 15 of the cars built to the Championship’s latest Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) regulations, and no normally aspirated S2000 cars.
The majority of the entry has already been previously announced, with only 52-year-old Mark Hazell now confirmed at Rob Austin Racing in the No.31 Audi A4, though the team have not confirmed their other driver as yet.
The second Thorney Motorsport Vauxhall Insignia is also listed as TBA, though the team has said that it’s planned for Rob Hedley to drive the car when it enters the Championship from the fourth round in June at Oulton Park.
Motorbase Performance will run under the Redstone Racing banner this year whilst Team Wood Racing, with their new Vauxhall Vectra, will run as BINZ Racing.
Thorney Motorsport is effectively the only new team to the Championship this year, whilst five teams do not return for the 2012 season which includes RML, Arena Motorsport, Special Tuning Racing, Tech-Speed Motorsport and Geoff Steel Racing.
