Kristoffersson tops morning test session at Knutstorp

Johan Kristoffersson topped the morning session of the first official Scandinavian Touring Car Championship test session of 2012. The Volkswagen driver lapped the Knutstorp track in 1:00.942, just over two tenths faster than team mate Jordi Gené.

Volkswagen claimed the top four places with Patrik Olsson in third and Johan Stureson in fourth, both under half a second from Kristoffersson’s time.

Michel Nykjaer was the best non-Volkswagen driver with the fifth fastest time, just 0.025 seconds behind Stureson, in his Chevrolet Cruze. Team mate Rickard Rydell only completed an installation lap and never recorded a lap time.

Tomas Engström made his first appearance with the NGTC engined S2000 Honda Civic and was seventh fastest after 12 laps, 2.257 seconds behind Kristoffersson’s time.

A total of seven cars took part in the test session.
