Johan Kristoffersson fastest in wet Sturup warm-up

STCC points leader Johan Kristoffersson was fastest in a wet morning warm-up session at the Sturup Raceway in the Team Biogas.se VW Scirocco ahead of IPS Team Biogas driver Patrik Olsson.

Kristoffersson’s best time of 1:08.892 was over six seconds slower than Michel Nykjaer’s pole position time from Q2 yesterday in the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T, as the cars had to contend with the damp conditions at the track at the southern tip of Sweden, near Denmark.

Michel Nykjaer was the fastest of the Chevrolet drivers in third, just over half a second down on Kristoffersson’s time with team-mate Rickard Rydell sixth quickest in the other Chevrolet Cruze.

Jordi Gené and Johan Stureson saw that four of the Volkswagen Sciroccos occupied to the top five spots with fourth and fifth quickest times respectively.

Tomas Engström, who will start race one from pole position in the Honda Civic was seventh fastest, with Santosh Berggren the fastest of the SEATs in eighth place.

Tony Johansson was the fastest of the Semcon Cup drivers in the normally aspirated G-Rex Mercedes C200 in ninth.
