Rydell and Nykjær aiming for wins at Mantorp Park

Chevrolet duo Rickard Rydell and Michel Nykjær heads to the STCC race at Mantorp Park this weekend with the goal set on further victories.
“I’m really feeling loaded and ready for this weekend. Mantorp Park is the track on the calendar with the most international character and it has become one of my favorites,” said Rydell.

While Rydell is second in the championship behind Volkswagen’s Johan Kristoffersson, Nykjær has had the best run of results recently with two wins in the three past races.
“Volkswagen had a small advantage over us last time at Mantorp Park and our Cruze is better at more technical tracks, we know that this can be a tough weekend for us. But we have found more speed in the car since then and I have won two of the three last races. For me it is about continue to reduce the gap to Rickard and Johan in the championship,” said Nykjær.

Rydell hopes to find the speed during the Friday test sessions in order to give Kristoffersson and Volkswagen a fight on the power-demanding Mantorp Park.
“We had a strong race pace here last time, but we lacked some performance compared to Volkswagen in qualifying. The key for us will be to get it right during the Friday tests and if we do that, we have strong possibilities to fight in the very top,” said Rydell.
