Chevrolet claims double pole at Mantorp Park

Chevrolet drivers Rickard Rydell and Michel Nykjaer claimed one pole position each at Mantorp Park. Rydell was fastest in Q1 and with that securing grid position one for the first race.

Rydell beat title rival Johan Kristoffersson with 0.147 seconds, with Tomas Engström claiming third on the grid.

Nykjaer will line up fourth ahead of IPS Team Biogas drivers Patrik Olsson and Johan Stureson.

Nykjaer was fastest of the eight drivers making it on to the Q2 session, beating his team mate Rydell with just 0.025 seconds. The times were really close in the second session, proven by Kristoffersson’s time for third position, just 0.036 from pole.

Stureson claimed fourth fastest time, 0.218 seconds from Nykjaer’s time, with Engström in fifth, Olsson in sixth and Gené in seventh. Santosh Berggren was final driver in the top eight, but a massive 2.551 seconds behind.
