Tomas Engström aiming for title battle
Tomas Engström has gained momentum after slow start to the season and has climbed to fourth in the championship, with the goal to climb further in this weekend’s race at Östersund.
“The goal is to gain further on the top three in the points, third is within reach and if we can gain another 10-20 points per race on Kristoffersson and Rydell, then we can be in for the title fight at Solvalla in September,” said Engström.
Engström’s NGTC engined Honda Civic has been serviced by Team Dynamics during the summer break.
“We are really ready for the final half of the season. The car has been serviced by Team Dynamics during the break and my engineer Stuart Beaton has worked hard to analyze all information that we have from the first four races, so everything is in top condition,” said Engström.
The Honda driver had his best weekend so far in the previous races at Mantorp Park, claiming a double podium, as well as claiming the fastest laps in the last four races.
“It was very important in many ways that we got a strong result from Mantorp, it was partly important for the title battle and also that the team got a mental boost and we got a good feeling within the team now,” said Engström.
