Paul O’Neill back with Speedworks at Knockhill

Paul O’Neill will return for a second outing in this year’s British Touring Car Championship with Speedworks Motorsport in their Toyota Avensis at Knockhill.

The 32-year-old racing driver, who filled in for Tony Hughes at Croft before the summer break due to business commitments, will yet again take over the wheel of Hughes’ car at the Fife circuit on August 26th.

O’Neill confirmed the news on his Twitter account on Tuesday evening:

The Northwich-based Speedworks team ran strongly at Snetterton, with reigning Ginetta GT Supercup champion Adam Morgan qualifying in fifth place, but a spin early in race one hampered his progress throughout the rest of the weekend.

O’Neill was struck with mechanical issues throughout his appearance at Croft, but after a successful test during the summer break where O’Neill joined the team’s regular drivers Morgan and Hughes, the team were able to resolve a number of issues.
