Michel Nykjaer leads the way in morning warm-up

Michel Nykjaer was fastest of all in the warm-up session at Knutstorp for Chevrolet ahead of Volkswagen’s Johan Kristoffersson, with Rydell ensuring all three drivers at the top of the standings were in the top positions.

Nykjaer’s time of 1:01.268 set the benchmark for the session, with Kristoffersson just 0.151 seconds behind in the Volkswagen Scirocco CNG, with Rydell just over half a second down.

The yellow flag was out late in the 15 minute session as Patrik Olsson’s IPS Team Biogas Scirocco had ground to a halt. As a result, there were no further improvements.

The three Volkswagens of Johan Stureson, Jordi Gené and Patrik Olsson occupied fourth to sixth on the time sheets, with Robin Appelqvist the fastest of the SEATs in seventh.

Niclas Olsson was fastest of the Semcon Cup drivers in eighth. The Mercedes of Tony Johansson did not take part in the session, nor did Tomas Engström’s Honda Racing Sweden Civic, which has just had a new engine fitted, or André Andersson’s BMW 320i.

The first race gets underway at 12:20 CET.
