Mercedes V8 Supercars engine to be tested in a Ford

Erebus Motorsport and Stone Brothers Racing are working under a pressed time schedule to get the three Mercedes E-Class cars ready for the 2013 V8 Supercars season. One of the first steps will be to test the new 5.0 liter Mercedes engine in one of SBR’s Ford Falcons in the coming weeks.

“There is a lot of work required between now and the first event next year; by no means will it be an easy road with V8 Supercars being such a highly competitive environment,” said Erebus Motorsport CEO, Ryan Maddison.

Stone Brothers Racing, SBR, have fielded Fords in the V8 Supercars since 1998 but will for 2013 field three Mercedes E-Class alongside the Ford Falcons, Holden Commodores and Nissan Altimas, all built according to the new Car Of The Future regulations.
