Östersund confirmed for 2013 STCC calendar

The Airport Race in Östersund has been confirmed for the 2013 STCC calendar despite recent economical problems.

The company behind the event was close to bankruptcy after their first ever race earlier this year, despite the 15 000 spectators. But thanks to a deal with the creditors, the company has been able to confirm a new race for 2013.

“It means that we can go for a new race in 2013. We thank all suppliers that has been a part of this agreement and we are looking forward to continue to develop the STCC event in Östersund with an increased focus on sales to sponsors and partners,” read a statement from the board of the Östersund event.

Östersund is the fourth track to be confirmed for the 2013 calendar together with Knutstorp, Solvalla and Gothenburg.
“We are looking forward to return to Östersund. We are going to offer the spectators a much stronger racing package next year,” said STCC MD Bob Huzell.
