Dacia enters STCC with Mattias Andersson

Dacia Dealer Team today announced their entry for the 2013 STCC with Mattias Andersson behind the wheel.
“Dacia is one of the fastest growing manufacturers for the last couple of years and it feels great to work with them,” said Andersson to TouringCarTimes.

The programme is a cooperation between Andersson’s team MA:GP, Dacia and the dealers of Dacia in Sweden.
“We have thought long on different possibilities to show the market that there is a new and affordable brand on the market. And we have reached the conclusion that STCC is a strong platform to build Dacia’s brand on,” said Joakim Jöhncke, Brands Manager of Dacia Nordic.

The team is going to use the Logan model and a first appearance of the car is expected to come in March.
“This is my biggest programme so far in the STCC and I am really looking forward to it. The plan is to run one car this year, but our ambition is to expand for the coming seasons. We have got one season behind us and hopefully we can use that experience to take one step forward for next year,” said Andersson.

Andersson raced a Saab 9-3 for Flash Engineering in the TTA last year, finishing 13th, alongside his Swedish GT programme where he clinched the title with Martin Nelson in a Ferrari 458.
