Robert Dahlgren fastest in first STCC test of 2013
Robert Dahlgren topped day one of the first official STCC test session of 2013 at Knutstorp. The Volvo Polestar Performance driver was fastest by a good margin, four tenths ahead of manufacturer colleague Thed Björk.
Volvo claimed the top three positions with Dahlgren’s team mate Linus Ohlsson third fastest, a mere eight thousands of a second slower than Björk.
Best non-Volvo driver was BMW Dealer Team WestCoast Racing newcomer Robin Rudholm in fourth position, 93 thousands of a seconds slower than Björk in third.
Rudholm is not yet announced as driver for the BMW team this year, but an announcement is expected shortly.
Reigning TTA champion Fredrik Ekblom was fifth fastest ahead of the second best BMW driver in the form of Fredrik Larsson in sixth. Richard Göransson made it three BMWs in the top ten in seventh position, 0.751 seconds from Dahlgren’s time.
Mattias Andersson, driving for Dacia Dealer Team Sweden, was eighth fastest ahead of STCC newcomer and Norwegian Roar Lindland in ninth. Jocke Mangs was the final driver in to the top ten, 1.6 seconds from the top, with STCC and Volvo Polestar newcomer Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte in 11th.
Another driver yet to be announced by the team present at the test was Niclas Olsson in Brovallen Design’s Citroën C5.
The STCC test at Knutstorp continues until Thursday.
