Richard Göransson confident after 2013 STCC test premiere

Four-time STCC champion Richard Göransson was third fastest on the final day of testing at Knutstorp and is confident ahead of the season start.
“The team has improved and developed on all areas during the winter. We have a package that is going to be hard to beat,” said Göransson.

The BMW driver lapped Knutstorp in 57.983 seconds, a time which was only 0.085 seconds from his team mate Fredrik Larsson who topped day three.
“The tests at Knutstorp was really good. We managed to test the things we wanted and finished the final day to show that we are in for the top,” said Göransson.

Göransson had a mixed season in last year’s TTA, finishing sixth overall with one victory and four non scoring rounds.
“Last year was informatory in many ways. We didn’t get the result we wanted, so we have worked really hard to analyze what went wrong,” said Göransson.

The three test days at Knutstorp hinted for a close season, with the top seven drivers being within three tenths.
“STCC is going to be really tough. It is going to be incredibly close and you need to be on top of everything to be able to fight in the top. We are hungry to get the STCC title back,” said Göransson.
