Thed Björk denies Richard Göransson to race two victory

Thed Björk denied Richard Göransson in the second race to take his and Volvo Polestar Racing’s first victory of the season.
“I am so pleased, the balance of the car was perfect and a big thanks to the team. Göransson was close at one point, but I was able to pull up a small gap and keep it,” said Björk.

Göransson started from pole position but lost the lead straight away as Björk made a lightning fast start from second on the grid.
“Thed’s pace was surprisingly good compared to the first race. I was trying to wait him out, but his tyres never faded. I knew he was never going to let me past. But I am super pleased with the first race of the year,” said Göransson.

Fredrik Larsson, starting third, kept third and was on his own, just under eight seconds from the top duo.

Robert Dahlgren led the Volvo train to fourth, with team mate Linus Ohlsson in fifth and reigning TTA champion Fredrik Ekblom in sixth.

Robin Rudholm crossed the line in seventh ahead of Jocke Mangs and Daniel Haglöf. Niclas Olsson was the final driver in to the top ten.

Mattias Andersson was given a drive through penalty for not having his tyres on at a required point on the grid. Roar Lindland retired due to technical problems after eight laps.

The championship continues at Solvalla in Swedish capital Stockholm on the 8th of June.
