Fredrik Larsson gutted after retiring from the lead
Fredrik Larsson took command of the first STCC race at Falkenberg from pole position. But 13 laps in to the race and it was all over.
“I drove just like in the laps before and suddenly the car just broke loose at the rear and I was a passenger,” said Larsson.
The BMW driver slid off track and was stuck in the gravel trap of the fastest corner of the track.
“The rear window came loose removed all air from the rear wing, there was nothing I could do. All grip just disappeared on the worst possible place of the track,” said Larsson.
The DNF means that Larsson drops to fifth position in the championship, 71 points behind championship leader and race winner Thed Björk.
“It is a damn shame. I controlled the race, took care of the tyre ware and had a good pace. It was a clear victory that disappeared,” said Larsson.
