Thed Björk fastest in first Östersund Airport Race test
Thed Björk claimed the fastest time of the first test session at Östersund and was the only driver to get below 52 seconds around the short airport track. The championship leader headed three Volvos with Robert Dahlgren in second, 0.346 seconds behind, and Fredrik Ekblom in third, 0.394 seconds behind.
Picko Troberg Racing’s Alexander Graff pulled a surprise with fourth fastest time and topped the session for a good while. The Saab driver was 0.421 seconds from Björk’s time in the end.
Richard Göransson was the top BMW driver in fifth, just ahead of his team mate Fredrik Larsson. Linus Ohlsson claimed seventh fastest time ahead of the Brovallen Citroën of Jocke Mangs and the Dacia of Mattias Andersson, with the Team Tid ö Saab of Roar Lindland the last driver in to the top ten.
The session had yellow flags after turn two for a large portion of the session after Daniel Haglöf parked off circuit. The PWR Racing driver came to a halt due to what seemed to be severe engine problems and required a lengthy recovery.
The second session is scheduled for 21.00 CET, but it could be moved to tomorrow morning due to limited sunlight with a thick cloud cover currently over the track.
