Jocke Mangs calls Linus Ohlsson “schmuck” after incident at Tierp
Citroën driver Jocke Mangs was left fuming after an incident with Volvo driver Linus Ohlsson in the STCC race at Tierp Arena.
“Schmuck is a good word for him,” said Mangs.
The two were involved in a four-car fight for fourth position, also involving Daniel Haglöf and Fredrik Ekblom. Haglöf made his way past Ohlsson, opening the door for Mangs to attack Ohlsson. The two went side-by-side in to the hairpin after the long airfield straight, with Mangs on the inside and Ohlsson on the outside.
“Haglöf got past Ohlsson, I follow and I got alongside him with more than half my car, but he just turns in and destroys my left front fender,” said Mangs.
Ohlsson’s maneuver on the outside resulted in Mangs also losing one position to Ekblom, dropping the Brovallen Design driver to seventh position.
“My race was ruined there as my car was damaged. He knew that I was on the inside and just as I said to him after the race, this was just so insanely unnecesary,” said Mangs.
The Citroën driver confronted Ohlsson in parc fermé after the race before the Polestar Performance driver was able to get out of his car, with a heated argument following.
“He seemed very upset, which I can’t understand. We were fighting for position and I got past him with some contact. We both remained on track, this is the STCC where there often is contact and no one gives anything for free,” said Ohlsson.
