Daniel Haglöf criticizes test for new STCC drivers

Saab driver Daniel Haglöf criticizes the test session for newcomers at Mantorp Park ahead of the STCC finale this weekend.
“If they had been allowed to test at another track, I would not have any opinions over it. But they got 40 laps of extra testing at the very track that we are going to race at, that is just completely wrong,” said Haglöf.

Andreas Wernersson and Philip Forsman were given permission by the Touring Car Team Association to breach the test stop and complete a test day at Mantorp Park earlier this week.
“I want to say that it is really positive that we are getting new drivers to the championship, they are all very fast. But that is why it is wrong when they get the chance for a real test at the very same track that we are going to race on. These teams are going to have a big advantage compared to the other of us who won’t get the extra test. I have protested against the decision, but to no avail,” said Haglöf.

The teams participating in the test were WestCoast Racing (Forsman) and Brovallen Design (Wernersson).
“We have no comments on Haglöf’s statement other than that it is important for us to work hard for a strong 2014 season and give new drivers and teams the best possible conditions,” said Greger Petersson, MD of Touring Car Team Association.
