PWR Racing aiming for two cars next year
PWR Racing are aiming for two cars in the 2014 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
”If you look at the way things went this season, it is necessary with a second car to gather more data,” said driver and team manager Daniel Haglöf.
Haglöf drove a Saab 9-3 for PWR Racing this season and finished ninth overall with third as his best finish.
”We have taken a big step forward compared to last year. We are working really well as a team,” said Haglöf.
The expansion to two cars would help the team to compete with the bigger teams like Volvo and BMW in terms of getting the set-up right.
”Mostly we didn’t get the set-up right until the race, with one car further we would have been further up already in qualifying and that would have helped a lot in the results,” said Haglöf.
While the ambition is to expand to two cars for next year, the final details are far from set.
”You need to create stability and continuity before you can take on the big projects. We have a solid model around our programme. It is all about building strong relationships with the sponsors and we have done well there. We are ready to take the next step in development,” said Haglöf.
Speculation has been ongoing during the autumn that PWR Racing are about to change manufacturer for next year, with Kia having been mentioned.
