Fredrik Larsson remains on top in final test day at Knutstorp
BMW driver Fredrik Larsson remained on top in the final STCC test day at Knutstorp, lapping the two kilometer circuit in 57.347.
“It feels pretty good and we have both race and qualifying setup under control for the first race,” said Larsson.
Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson was second fastest, 85 thousands of a second from Larsson’s time, with WestCoast Racing driver Philip Forsman in third.
Four-time STCC champion and Saab driver, for this year, Richard Göransson was fourth fastest, close to three tenths of a second from Larsson’s time.
“I’m not pleased with the times, there is more to get both from the driver and the car. But I am pleased with how we have got the cooperation in the team to work. We are fast over longer distances, but we can’t really use the tyres fully during a single lap yet,” said Göransson.
The top Kia driver was Mattias Lindberg in fifth position ahead of team mate Andreas Wernersson in sixth position. Emma Kimiläinen clamed position seven, six tenths from the top time of the session.
Nine cars took part in the session, with the new rookie rules coming into force, meaning for example that Volvo Polestar Racing drivers Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom were only allowed to take part in the two first test days while newcomers to the championship can take part in all three days.
