Emma Kimiläinen impresses in STCC qualifying debut
Emma Kimiläinen secured fifth position on the grid for both STCC races at Knutstorp tomorrow in her first ever STCC qualifying sessions for Saab team PWR Racing.
”I am happy, especially as I have never driven Super Pole before and that I was faster in Super Pole than Q1,” said Kimiläinen.
The Finn beat reigning champion Thed Björk in the second qualifying session and was three tenths of a second from pole position.
”I will never be pleased until I am fastest. But the boys will have to look out for me tomorrow,” said Kimiläinen.
Kimiläinen has raced Radical and single seaters in the past, as well as testing for a team in DTM. But the Finn has been away from racing for the past four years.
”The important thing is that my driving felt this good after four years, that I still can drive well,” said Kimiläinen.
