Fredrik Ekblom fastest in first test of Knutstorp premiere

Volvo Polestar Racing driver Fredrik Ekblom was fastest in the first test session of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship premiere weekend at Knutstorp. The Volvo driver lapped the two kilometer circuit in 57.797 and was 0.123 seconds faster than BMW driver Fredrik Larsson in second place.

Richard Göransson, who has switched from WestCoast Racing to Team Tidö this year, was third fastest, 0.242 seconds from Ekblom, while Mattias Andersson made it four different manufacturers in the top four for Dacia Dealer Team.

STCC newcomer Emma Kimiläinen maintained her strong pace from pre-season testing and was fifth fastest, just over four tenths from the top.

Reigning champion Thed Björk was sixth fastest ahead of three STCC newcomers in the form of Philip Forsman in seventh, Andreas Wernersson in eighth and Erik Jonsson in ninth. Kia driver Linus Ohlsson was the last man into the top ten, 1.165 seconds from Ekblom.
