Thed Björk heads Volvo 1-2 in final Gothenburg test

Team mates Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom headed a Volvo 1-2 in the second test session at their home circuit Gothenburg City Arena. The duo were alone in getting below 45 seconds around the track, with Björk on 44.638 and Ekblom on 44.942.

Mattias Andersson showed strong form with third fastest time, just below six tenths of a second from the fastest time.

Four-time STCC champion Richard Göransson only managed two laps before he slid into the tyre barriers in corner three as a light rain shower passed over the circuit. Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte had to take evasive action and touched the tyre wall as well, but without damage and was able to continue while Göransson spent the rest of the session in the pits.

Mattias Lindberg was fourth fastest and the top Kia driver, six tenths of a second from Björk. Kia team mate Linus Ohlsson followed closely in fifth position, just 22 thousands of a second adrift.

Championship leader Fredrik Larsson continued to struggle to be in touch with the top and was sixth fastest, close to a second from the top time.

Next up is qualifying, starting at 13:20 CET.
