Good first impressions of VW for Jack Goff
Team BMR’s Jack Goff said he has a good first impression of his new Volkswagen CC, despite the limited running he got in the first free practice at Snetterton.
Along with team boss Warren Scott, Goff has switched to the CC from a Vauxhall Insignia, as the team look to concentrate on the development of one model.
The 2012 Clio Cup champion was second in the session, just behind team-mate Alain Menu.
Speaking to TouringCarTimes, Goff said: “The main reason behind it is so we can develop four cars in one go, rather than having two different cars to work on. We thought there would be quite a lot of crossover [between the VW and the Vauxhall], but they are quite different, to be honest.
“Now we have four the same, we can try four things at once, and hopefully fast-forward the development stage.
“I only got one proper lap in first practice, and it was damp, but the car felt quite good. It was different to the Insignia.
“It would be good to get out there and do a few laps in FP2. Everyone is three seconds off a dry time, and we aren’t anywhere near pushing it hard enough yet.”
