Triple Eight to run Air Force tribute livery at the Bathurst 1000
Triple Eight Race Engineering will sport at a new livery on the #1 and #888 Holden Commodores this weekend of Jamie Whincup/Paul Dumbrell and Craig Lownes/Steven Richards, paying tribute to the Royal Australian Air Force on both the cars and the drivers’ overalls.
With many teams rolling out special liveries for the jewel in the crown of the V8 Supercars Championship, the Red Bull backed Triple Eight team have been one of the last to show off their new colours, with a military camouflaged infused with the team’s blue livery.
“It’s clearly our biggest race of the year, and what better way to celebrate it than with another awesome team – that’s the Air Force,” said points leader Jamie Whincup.
“Those guys, we share so many similarities (with) and it’s awesome to team up with them and just showcase what the Air Force is all about and raise awareness for those guys.
“Hopefully the whole crew of the Air Force are right behind us this weekend.”
