Alexandre Prémat continues as co-driver to Scott McLaughlin
Alexandre Prémat has been confirmed to continue as co-driver to Scott McLaughlin in the 2015 V8 Supercars endurance races with Volvo Polestar Racing.
“I have a done deal with Prémat, he is in with Scott and that won’t change,” said Garry Rogers, team owner of Garry Rogers Motorsport, to v8supercars.com.au.
Prémat drove full-time for GRM in 2012 and 2013 when the team ran Holdens. The Frenchman was replaced by Robert Dahlgren last year, but drove as co-driver to McLaughlin and showed strong form.
“Alex did a very good job last year. He came to the enduros and it was unfortunate what happened at Bathurst but he did a very good job for us, so there was no hesitation asking him to come back. When he was first here he crashed and burned and wrecked and whatever, but the fact was he was always very fast,” said Rogers.
Prémat, who previously has driven for Audi in DTM, scored his first ever V8 Supercars podium last year with McLaughlin in the Gold Coast 600 race.
The co-driver to David Wall is yet to be confirmed, but long-time GRM endurance driver Greg Ritter, who partnered Dahlgren last year, is on the list.
“We are still looking at what our options are. Greg (Ritter) is one of the options. Several people are options. We are just looking at maybe we could do something else, maybe we couldn’t. We are just chewing that around as a team to see what we think can give us the best result,” said Rogers.
