Andrea Belicchi on the podium despite top speed problems

Andrea Belicchi took a podium and a fifth position in the two races held in Monza, Italy. The Target Competition driver, who enjoyed home race support, had a good time during the races.

“I enjoyed the races a lot,” said the SEAT driver. “Obviously I would have liked to win or come second, but today I did not have the sheer speed to do it. I just could follow the others and keep the pace, doing the best I could. I think we need to investigate what is wrong in my car, and once we solve the problem I will be back.”

Despite his lack of top speed, the Italian explained how he managed to still take two good results: “When you are in the slipstream it helps a lot, I tried to optimize every corner and not make mistakes. Also, during the fights, I was careful to do it in a way that allowed me not to waste any time, and the results just came. Hopefully next time will be even better.”

Belicchi is fifth in the championship, 44 points behind new leader Gianni Morbidelli.
