Thed Björk bounces back in second dry Anderstorp test

Thed Björk bounced back on top in the second STCC test at Anderstorp as the track had dried up after the first wet test session, setting the fastest ever lap record with an STCC car at the circuit: 1:33.116. The Volvo Polestar Racing driver headed team mate Fredrik Ekblom in second place with 0.451 seconds separating the both.

BMW driver Fredrik Larsson, who was fastest in the first session, topped the list towards the end of the session but dropped two positions as the Volvo drivers improved. Larsson was third fastest in this session, just over seven tenths from Björk’s time.

Saab driver Richard Göransson was fourth fastest in this session, a full 1.468 seconds behind, with Dacia driver Mattias Andersson in fifth.

Erik Johansson was once again fastest of the Kia drivers, 2.2 seconds from Björk in sixth position. Emma Kimiläinen beat PWR Racing team mate Daniel Haglöf to seventh position.

The STCC field is down to 12 cars as Team Kia driver Emelie Liljeström is not taking part in the race weekend at Anderstorp.

Next is qualifying, starting at 17:20 CET with the weather forecast still warning for more rain.
