Daniel Haglöf and Thed Björk share Solvalla pole positions

Daniel Haglöf and Thed Björk shared the pole positions in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship qualifying sessions at Solvalla.

PWR Racing driver Haglöf has held an impressive pace this weekend, something he confirmed in the first qualifying session where he was fastest by a full 0.247 seconds, securing 25 points to the championship.

Björk was second fastest in Q1, with Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson third fastest. Polestar Cyan Racing driver Fredrik Ekblom secured the fourth fastest time ahead of Richard Göransson and Emma Kimiläinen.

BMW title hope Fredrik Larsson had a tough session with seventh position, over a second from the pole time.

The Q2 session saw reigning champion Björk setting the fastest time, but only just. Haglöf was a mere 0.025 seconds behind in second place, with Björk’s team mate Ekblom improving to third position.

Larsson improved as well to fourth fastest time in the Q2 session ahead of Team Tidö driver Göransson in fifth and Dacia driver Andersson in sixth.

The first race of the weekend starts tomorrow at 14:45.
