Daniel Haglöf on top in first Solvalla test
Daniel Haglöf came out on top in the first Scandinavian Touring Car Championship test session at Solvalla, just 0.076 seconds ahead of BMW title candidate Fredrik Larsson.
Times were significantly slower on the freshly paved Solvalla circuit, with Haglöf being close to four seconds behind the pole time of last year.
WestCoast Racing’s Larsson had a scare during the session, locking up and coming to a halt in turn one. Larsson managed to get going again to finish the session in second place.
The Polestar Cyan Racing duo Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom occupied positions three and four, 0.244 and 0.535 seconds behind respectively, with both of them carrying 50 kilos of penalty weight.
Mattias Andersson and Richard Göransson, both fighting hard for fourth position in the championship, were fifth and sixth in the session.
Kevin Aabol was fastest of the Team Kia drivers in seventh position, being the final driver below one second from the top time.
Emma Kimiläinen claimed position eight ahead of Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte in ninth, with Sportpromotion driver Erik Jonsson rounding off the top ten.
Next up is test session two, starting at 16:40 CET.
