Karl Reindler confirmed as back-up for Nick Percat
Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport has confirmed Karl Reindler as back-up for Nick Percat, should he not recover in time for the Phillip Island races this weekend, according to speedcafe.com.
“Karl is the logical guy because he’s been in the cars and with the team recently. We’ve spoken to Karl to confirm that he’s going to be at Phillip Island, but I’m confident that Nick will be fine and we won’t need to replace him,” said Lucas Dumbrell, team owner of Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport to speedcafe.com.
Percat was hospitalised for a severe infection following the Gold Coast 600 race where a broken exhaust header caused the foot well to heat up, burning Percat’s right foot.
Reindler drove for the team during the endurance race this year as co-driver to Percat’s team-mate Tim Blanchard.
