TCR announces TCR Trophy Europe for national series
The TCR organisaters have today launched a TCR Trophy Europe which will incorporate six events from the various national TCR series for 2016.
“This is a purely commercial trophy, based on the cooperation of the promoters of six TCR national championships in Europe that agreed to nominate one of their own events as a round of the Trophy,” said TCR promoter Marcello Lotti.
The trophy will include the races at Smolensk Ring in Russia on May 15th, Misano in Italy on June 12th, Zandvoort in the Netherlands on July 17th, Zolder in Belgium on August 20th and Jerez in Spain on November 6th.
Only drivers registered for a full season of a TCR championship will be eligible to score points in the TCR Trophy Europe.
Each round will be held according to the regulations of each national championship. Points will be scored by the top ten, starting at 25 points and going down to 1 point for tenth position.
The four best results from the season will be valid for the total classification of the TCR Trophy Europe.
