Jordi Oriola scores points on Opel Astra TCR debut

Jordi Oriola claimed sixth for Target Competition in the second race in Bahrain. The Spaniard took full advantage of the penalties awarded to WestCoast Racing’s Aku Pellinen and B3 Racing’s Mat’o Homola to improve on what was already a good result, after finishing eighth on track.

“I am very happy to have been able to score on my debut in Bahrain,” said Oriola. “We have had the opportunity to test the Opel Astra TCR and I am qualified to achieve a good result in the next meeting [in Portugal].”

Target Competition were also delighted with the outcome of the race, stating that sixth is a “huge result for a brand new car.

The TCR International Series will resume in Estoril, Portugal, in three weeks.
