Richard Göransson sets fastest ever STCC lap at Knutstorp

Richard Göransson recorded the fastest ever STCC lap time at Knutstorp during a test session today with 57.415, beating his own qualifying record from 2013 by 0.081 seconds.

The four-time champion set the lap time in his first official outing for the Volvo team Polestar Cyan Racing, with his new team mate and STCC returnee Robert Dahlgren just over two tenths of a second behind.

Only three STCC cars took part in the test at Knutstorp today, with Dacia Dealer Team driver Mattias Andersson being 0.385 seconds slower than Göransson.

The remaining STCC field will conduct a test at Gelleråsen next week, with an expected 10 to 12 cars for the entry list which is set to be released in the coming week.

The test for Volvo and Dacia at Knutstorp continues tomorrow.
